Bukka White Blues Festival

A weekend full of fun activities featuring historic home tours, along with the civil war encampment, candlelight cemetary tour, carriage rides, 5K walk/run, antique and classic car show, play and musical performance at the Elkin and so much more! Step back in time at Historic Aberdeen's Southern Heritage Pilgrimage. (April 5th through 7th or the first weekend in April)
Non-stop blues music on the banks of the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, the free festival honors Mississippi blues great Bukka White by providing a family-friendly atmosphere so that all ages can enjoy Mississippi blues on green grass under October blue skies. Whether competing in the BBQ rib contest, learning about exotic animals, paddleing a kayak, riding the kid’s train, enjoying some great food, or simply enjoying the blues from your docked boat, the Bukka White Blues Festival has something for everyone to enjoy!

Aberdeen's picturesque tree-lined streets and busy shopping district complement the city's proximity to the scenic Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, which provides a water route to the world, connecting the inland waters of the Tennessee River with the Gulf of Mexico. In fact, Aberdeen was founded because of her location on the Tombigbee River and her proximity to rich prairie land ideal for cotton farming.
